This story is 100% true. It tells the story of a day when I was on tour in New Orleans. We had a day off to explore, and the band met up with some friends to go on an adventure. One of those friends did something so unexpected that later I put myself in her shoes and wrote this song....
lyrics
It’s raining and it’s really hot
I need a poncho so I don’t get wet
And so I go to CVS
Like everybody else
It’s really, really, really crowded
But I find the ponchos first
So I buy all the ponchos
It makes some people really made
Because they all wanted ponchos
And so I tell them, “Too bad, so sad, go to Walgreens”
We’re walking to the Museum of Death
When you’re in New Orleans
They say you ought to go there
And so we saw a lot of horrible
And a lot of people
Some of them were really wet
Because they didn’t have a poncho
